Cleaning

One of the most important steps in the restoration process is cleaning. Effective cleaning helps to minimize organism growth and maintain a well preserved appearance. We use bristle brushes or special scrub pads for exterior wood cleaning. We usually use an all in one teak cleaner or if a more effective cleaner is preferred, we can use a two part teak cleaner. If a milder cleaner is needed in order to preserve a finish, water and dish soap is almost as effective as teak cleaner. (Bleach is not ideal for cleaning wood). We clean all types of patio furniture and patio furniture cushions.

Sanding

If there is any remaining finish or the wood is too fuzzy or weathered, sanding can be helpful to smooth out the surface. Sanding can be a time consuming part of the process, and it's not good to breath in wood dust so we recommend keeping this part of the process to a minimum. Some times sanding armrests and table tops is sufficient. We strive to let our clients know the pros and cons so that they can make an informed decision.

Repairs

Because we specialize in outdoor furniture, we have extensive experience in making all types of repairs and replacements. We know what adhesive works best for repairing cracks and broken pieces along with quality stainless fasteners which are often concealed with matching wood plugs. We can replace sling fabric material and furniture straps with new strap, wood, or other materials.

 

Finishes
While we have used most wood patio furniture finishes, we usually recommend water based products from Golden Care. We have many of their finishes in stock. Many high end retailers also recommend their products. If we don't have a product on hand, we can place an order and ship to you, or products can be ordered directly from the US distributor (Koverroos) using our 10% discount code SUN-GCKV on their website at https://www.koverroos.com/ . Assembling and finishing new furniture
We can receive and assemble furniture on your behalf. We can then apply your desired finish and deliver it to you or we can finish your new furniture at your location. It's best to apply the finish between a week and a month of receiving it because this allows time for the surface oil to wash off. Another option would be to clean the furniture when it comes in and then apply the finish after it dries. This allows the finish to go deeper into the grain of the wood and be more even and longer lasting.

We have relationships with patio furniture retailers and can help you find the furniture that is the best fit for you. We also have great furniture at excellent prices from venders and clients that might not be listed on our website so feel free to contact us if you don't see what you're looking for. 

Furniture parts, fasteners, & refinishing supplies
We can locate or fabricate replacement slats or boards. We carry a variety of leg glides that help protect patio furniture from rot and other damage. We also carry or can locate patio furniture parts and fasteners. We offer the same great cleaning and refinishing supplies that we use on our client's furniture. We buy teak patio furniture

If your furniture has come to the end of its useful life or you are ready for a change, we can provide an offer to buy your furniture if you're in Texas. We pay more for furniture that is from a quality manufacturer in good condition, but we may be interested in damaged or weathered teak as well. We often use the scrap wood for reclaimed furnishings.
